Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Selectly ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. Selectly reserves the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of any modifications.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Selectly. By creating an account or submitting an application, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms. Selectly reserves the right to verify your age and identity at any time.

3. Membership & Access

Selectly is a curated, membership-based platform. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Selectly reserves the sole right to approve, deny, or revoke membership at its discretion and without obligation to provide a reason. Membership is non-transferable and limited to the individual applicant.

4. The Rose Protocol & Payments

Selectly uses a system of digital tokens ("Roses") as a mechanism to signal genuine interest. By purchasing or offering Roses, you acknowledge that they represent a commitment of intent.

  • Apple In-App Purchases: Rose Bouquets purchased by Proposers are processed exclusively via Apple In-App Purchase. These transactions are final and non-refundable by Selectly. Any refund requests must be directed to Apple Support.
  • Virtual Currency: Roses are a virtual currency with no monetary value outside the Platform. They cannot be exchanged for cash by Proposers.
  • Redemption: Only "Courted" members may redeem earned Roses for payout via our third-party provider (Stripe Connect), subject to the platform's vesting periods and minimum thresholds.

5. Prohibited Conduct (Zero Tolerance)

Selectly maintains a Zero Tolerance Policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Any user found violating these rules will be immediately banned.

  • Sexual content: Posting, sharing, or soliciting sexually explicit material, nudity, or pornographic content of any kind.
  • Prostitution & solicitation: Using the Platform to offer, solicit, or facilitate prostitution, escort services, sexual services, or any form of commercial sexual activity ("pay-for-sex").
  • Human trafficking: Any activity related to human trafficking, exploitation, or coercion.
  • Harassment & abuse: Threatening, stalking, bullying, intimidating, or harassing other members.
  • Fraud & misrepresentation: Creating fake profiles, impersonating others, or providing false information.
  • Illegal activity: Using the Platform to facilitate any activity that violates laws.

6. Content Moderation & AI Inspection

To ensure safety and enforce our Zero Tolerance Policy, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI Monitoring: Selectly uses automated AI systems to proactively detect and flag offensive content, solicitation keywords, and abusive behavior in chats and profiles.
  • Human Review: Flagged content may be reviewed by human moderators to determine policy violations.
  • Active Inspection: Users may trigger an "Engagement Inspection" which analyzes chat logs via an LLM (Large Language Model) to verify engagement and conduct.
  • Removal: We reserve the right to remove any content and ban any user within 24 hours of a confirmed report.

7. Identity Verification

Selectly may require government-issued identification for verification purposes. By using the Platform, you consent to identity verification processes. Verification data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. While Selectly takes reasonable steps to verify member identities, we do not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by other members.

8. Account Termination

Selectly reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms of Service. Users found engaging in prohibited conduct (Section 5) will be permanently banned and may be reported to law enforcement where applicable. You may also request to delete your account at any time by contacting us.

9. Limitation of Liability

Selectly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Platform's reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Selectly is not responsible for the actions, behavior, or conduct of any member, whether online or offline. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Selectly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Selectly, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.
